Something is making my hands, arms and feet itch like mad. My hands are actually starting to come up in hives. I have taken an antihistamine and it seems to be helping but still, why is my immune system being so hypersensitive at the moment. I haven't changed soap, shampoo, conditioner, washed my clothes in anything different. I haven't brushed against any strange plants or come into contact with any strange animals. It is very annoying.

I guess, on the plus side, as there should always be a plus side, at least I don't have hayfever at the same time...

I am supposed to be writing a one page essay on a conflict i have seen at work, how it was identified, what happened, etc, however I haven't been involved in a conflict major enough to fill in a page. I have had minor things happen that took very little time to resolve but that is all.

Edit: Homework is done. Sort of...

My dvds arrived from the UK yesterday, so I am having a bit of a fest. it is fun seeing how the cgi has improved with 5 years and possibly a slightly bigger budget.

I love this show. Especially Lester. He is so sarcastic and awesome!!!

About his BMW when it is being attacked by a dinosaur "Have you any idea how much that thing costs?". Didn't even mess up his shirt or tie!!

And he somehow ended up married? Hmm...

Anyway, I adore it, bad graphics and all. And evolving storyline. It wasn't supposed to continue after season 3, but found some more money by moving to Ireland to film, so season 4 has quite a few very good looking Irish actors and actresses join the team.

NO MORE WATCHING ON YOUTUBE!! YAY!! The poor quality makes it look so much faker on youtube, especially on my nice 42" TV.

Now I just need to find some Becker/Jess icons. They aren't a couple as such, but she is definitely chasing him, and he bought her chocolate... so that has to count for something.

Favourite episodes at this stage - the submarine one, the terra-birds in the forest, and the season finale of season 5.

I am hoping they do make season 6, but apparenlty if they do, it will be made for late 2012. AGES AWAY.

Okay, this is a bit of a fangirl post...
I kind of feel a bit bad about that, however the last 4-5 days I have had the excuse of being unwell. Stupid viruses, and people that pass them on. Can't they just stay home. I would like to blame work, but honestly, it could have ben work, shops or anywhere in between. I did go to work on Friday, and about a third of the way through my 10 hour shift, thought I was going to faint, got off my table and got some very concerned looks from the supervisor when I put my head down between my knees. Is that not standard practice for it anymore?

I got checked out by first aid - temp of 38 (I normally run at 36.7) and apparently my pulse was a bit abnormal, but otherwise they couldn't do anything. Went back and lasted until almost half way through my shift. Doctor was a bit concerned that I didn't have any specific symptoms other than dizziness, temperature and aching legs. So it has been put down to a virus.

I haven't been keeping my cross stitch blog up to date either. Not that I have been stitching in the past few days. I have however still been stitching since I last updated the cross stitch journal here.

I have been a little obsessed with games on my iPod at the moment, as they really don't require a lot of concentration. I am playing zombie farms, we rule, tiny tower, tapfish and a few other ones. I have lost the ability to concentrate at the moment. I keep falling asleep at the drop of a hat (seriously, had tv shows on and slept through half of them I think...).

Taking a deep breath, she dove beneath the tossing waves, swimming down to the sea bed. Pearling and abalone diving was dangerous work, but her family had been doing it for years. She was only in training so she watched as her father and brother filled sacks alternatively with tiny pearls, and tasty abalone. Needing a breath of air, she looked up before heading towards the surface. Occasionally, sharks would come between them and the surface, meaning they would either have to try to hold on to their breath longer, or risk it.

Breaking the surface, and seeing her mother in the little dinghy, she swam towards her. Her mother cocked her head, looked at her watch, and said, "Four and a half minutes. Not bad for your second try. Down you go again."
TMI? )

I have five days off in a row this roster. I hope to pick up another shift, but it may not happen. I am pretty happy anyway, as I have the equivalent of 16 shifts (15 but 4 ten hour shifts make it equivalent to 16). Sisxteen is my magic number as fun as money goes, so that is good :D

Tired now. Must sleep. I think the caffeine is wearing off.

As the dog charged at her, she realised that something she suspected was true. Dogs really didn't like her. She thought it must be because she smelt too much of her other form even in human form.

She grinned as the dogs chain snapped into place and the dog was jerked backwards. Normally she would feel sorry for most animals, as she had experienced the whole chained up thing, but that dog, some kind of staffy and rottweiler mix, seemed to really want a piece of her.

She leapt into the tree that had branches spreading over the fence. Gymnastics had taught her some fabulous tricks, but it was her innate strength and balance that let her walk along the branch and leap to the ground unharmed.

Opening her hand, she looked at the pendant that she had taken. Such a small and insignificant thing to be so well guarded. But, she thought, appearances could be deceiving.

He watched from the trees above, knowing that humans rarely looked up. Clasping the trunk between his claws he judged difference between one tree and the next, and softly leapt from branch to branch.

No one bothered her as she pedalled along the well lit streets. He would see that no one ever did. If anyone saw him, they would probably call the police or something, but so far he had been lucky.

His sister crept up behind him, and he almost didn't hear her except she purposefully rustled the leaves. "Are you ever going to tell her?"

He shrugged, moving powerful, black furred shoulders up and down. In his current form, and hers, he couldn't answer her. Unlike him, she was as balanced in her human form as her other form, and could jump and leap without changing.

Her scarf whipped manically like a banner behind her as she pedalled up the moonlit street. Most people would wonder about a young woman out cycling at such an hour on a cold Saturday morning. Her ungloved hands were going numb, and her nose and cheeks were starting to to turn pink.

The number of people that told her it wasn't safe was amazing. But she remembered the conversation she had had earlier with her best friend. It was what she believed. Monsters, human ones, did exist, but the night held no fears for her. The daylight hours and the moonlit hours all had their dangers, it was just being aware of them.

As it was, no one bothered her on her trip from work to home. They rarely did. The roads were quiet in the few hours before dawn, and if she occasionally thought someone was following her or watching her, she shrugged the feeling off, as nothing ever came of it.

“Do you believe in monsters?”, he asked. “Those things that might go bump in the night.”
She looked at him, and said, “There are monsters. Sometimes they look like angels, or just like you and me. We all have a dark side, its just some it reveals itself more clearly.”
“That is a dark view of the world, but how about the true monsters, like in the movies, that you read about in horror stories – the vampires, and werewolves, banshees, and the fae?”
“The true fairy tales?” she asked. “Well, there is usually a basis for myths and legends. They may exist. But they may be pushed out of existence. Humans as a race really don’t share well with anything that is odd or different.”
“Does that include you?”
“I don’t know. Why do you ask?”
“I was just curious.”
“What made you start asking anyway? Was there something you were trying to tell me?”
“Maybe, but it really doesn’t matter. Not now, anyhow.”
“Are you sure? You did bring it up.”
He just shrugged and stared at the rising moon, peaking over the horizon.

I really like my Acer Aspire Happy One. It is lavender. So pretty!

I need to add some things to it. It has limited function at the moment - no music, nothing!

Doctor Who was a little odd. But I guess pirates are fun. Why was Rory the Roman being such a wimp though?

I want more Fringe. We have 4 episodes to go. I am really enjoying it.

I bought two Lamy fountain pens today. They are pretty cool.

We have training tomorrow... sigh... means I have to go to bed at a decent hour, so I get up in time. I am so used to being up until all hours, and sleeping during the day. Even on non work days.
With a microfibre cloth in the rain...

It was starting to look quite grey, and now it is back to mostly white :D

My hair is frizzing, and damp. I really should get warm!

We have had a 12mm dump since 4pm. What a winter this has been and what a wet and thundery spring this is looking to be!

The rivers are still flooding, and the roads are growing pot holes.

I need food. I have gnocchi, ricotta and olives. Should taste good with some semi dried tomatoes and mushies I think.

I really don't like Lady Jayne snagless hair lackies. They keep snapping on me :(

I am back to contemplating my hair. It needs a good trim and recolouring as I have about 2 inches of roots. Such a bad look. I am thinking dark brown with dark cherry lowlights or something. Something that won't be so noticeable when it grows out.

My hair is officially the longest it has been since I was about 14. Since then it has been all lengths - from completely shaved May 2006 to raise money for the Leukemia Foundation (aka Worlds Greatest Shave), to every length in between. In some ways I like it short, but I like all the ways you can style it when it is long. So it is staying long for a while... whether I keep growing it or keep it this length for a while is what I am still contemplating. If I grow it another 7-8 inches it will hit my waist... and be scarily heavy. I have a LOT of hair. I don't think its unduly thick but there is lots of it.

I seem to be having a Die Hard fest at the moment. I have rewatched 1,3 and 4 recently. And because I felt like it, The Fifth Element, which I taped off TV in Port Lincoln, apparently before Veronica Mars first started there. Which would have been pretty soon after I first moved there. It was kind of entertaining to see the ads though. Oh, and Kate was still alive on NCIS. SO how long ago was that???

I have also been re-reading Patricial Briggs books. I really need to get my hands on Dragon Bones and Dragon Blood. Dragon Bones was the first book by her I ever read. I have also bought the latest Black Jewels book by Anne Bishop. I really want to buy Sebastian and Belladona if I find them somewhere under $17 or so. Sebastian was such a sweet story.
